STAGE 3
For this stage of my project, I will be focusing on the structure - taking inspiration from Daniel Liberskin's technique of using regular objects, I have chosen to use cultural objects/ornaments to influence the shapes and designs of the Mosques/Islamic Centre.

From my initial set of selections, I then decided to focus on a few of my favourite concepts. From these initial concepts, I then formed simple line drawings I later further developed these using previous techniques and styles. ( as well as incorporating small elements of Urdu/Arabic).
CRITICAL LINK 2
I then decided to look into Shaun Kill and his museum of the future design as I really liked the way he warped the calligraphy around the building. I also felt that incorporating calligraphy into my project would work well as calligraphy has been used across islamic history for many years.
For this part of my development I decided to write the dua (prayer) before entering a mosque in Arabic calligraphy, which I then scanned in. I then applied this calligraphy to designs by warping it across my Islamic Centres/Mosques designs. To further develop my designs I decided to incorporate real textures. (Calligraphy, Arabic translation : Allaahum - maf tah lee abwaaba rahmatik. English translation: O Allah, open the gates of your mercy for me).
